Elizabeth Moncrieff (born 1983) is a supporting character in Manchester Chronicles. The eldest daughter of the Manchester Moncrieff family, Elizabeth is a Junior Vice-President with Moncrieff Holdings, holding a Business degree from the University of Cambridge.

Tormented Heiress

Elizabeth was born in Manchester, the United Kingdom, the first child of James Moncrieff and Catherine Moncrieff. Thanks to Moncrieff Holdings, the family was already quite wealthy when Elizabeth was born. Spoiled and often left in the care of governesses, Elizabeth was a wild child. After Sandra Moncrieff was born Elizabeth became prone to being a bit of a bully, tormenting Sandra. Things changed when Catherine received the Cloak-Pin of Tegau, a magical artifact that allowed her to freeze people in time. Catherine soon used the Cloak-Pin to discipline her daughters, freezing them for entire weekends so they would know no time off from school, and as a result Elizabeth is physically roughly a year younger than she should be. The effect on the young Elizabeth, eight years old when it began, took hold, leading her to mature a bit, though never fully lose a streak of rebellion.

A social queen, Elizabeth was considered one of the most popular girls in her private school. Elizabeth bonded well with other heiresses, though she also wasn't above engaging in prank battles with the likes of Aurora Perrot and Josina Van der Meer. With eight Advanced Levels in Math, English, Business Studies, Philosophy, French, Economics, Sociology and Classics, Elizabeth was quickly accepted into the University of Cambridge. Graduating quickly with a Masters Degree in Business, Elizabeth went to work for Moncrieff Holdings as a new Junior Vice-President. While James saw Elizabeth as the heir apparent, he remained somewhat distant, Elizabeth instead still spending more time with her mother than anything else. The rebellious streak still existed, Elizabeth sometimes sneaking into her mother's collection of frozen people, and she embraced her bisexuality, despite Catherine's protests.

Power Player

After being frozen by her mother one time too many, Elizabeth decided to pursue magic, having Geoffrey Atherton put her in contact with Jasper Ajax. Jasper would loan Elizabeth Stheno’s Spectacles, which she'd play with while hunting for the perfect personal assistant. The side-effect of the Spectacles would turn Elizabeth off the idea of keeping them, but during the events she'd met Hannah Rothstein. Using a combination of Magic, which she'd begun to regularly dabble in, and Transmoxide, Elizabeth was soon able to turn Hannah into her ideal assistant.

Elizabeth was first encountered by Kieran Hawthorne and Heather Prescott while going to visit her friend Petra Turner at Senfashional. Frozen in time by the resonant magic of the Winterborne Armband, Elizabeth none the less was aware something had transpired. Later Catherine would force Elizabeth to find a male date to a ball being thrown by the Friends in Need organization, frustrating Elizabeth as while she did still like men she didn't like being constrained by her mother. Rodney Dalrymple, a family friend that Elizabeth did somewhat get along with, ended up being Elizabeth's date.

At the ball, Elizabeth quickly took to Kieran, partially because her mother didn't approve though also because she found him very attractive. After a surprisingly passionate dance, the pair didn't connect much the rest of the night, Elizabeth instead focusing on another plan. What started as punishing Sarah Hunt for her reports on James in particular soon became a game of Elizabeth and Hannah freezing guests they liked with Freezing Draught. Besides Sarah, Elizabeth targeted Erika Stone, Mary Hamilton, Meaghan Mason, Halina Piontek, Amanda Blackburn, Lorraine Hammond and Heather Prescott, taking them all into a side room at the ball while avoiding Rodney. Elizabeth's hiding spot proved convenient when the Crown Breakers struck, freezing various guests with Type-7. Elizabeth managed to use her mother's Cloak-Pin to arm herself and work to deal with the terrorists, teaming up with Kieran as well as Verity Knight, Georgina MacKenzie and Larissa Penbrook. After the threat was dealt with Elizabeth discreetly had her collection scattered amongst the victims of the attack, Sarah Hunt the only one Elizabeth chose to keep. The end of the night saw Elizabeth and Kieran officially become lovers, leaving the ball for Elizabeth's private apartment in the city.

Detective Work

Certain that someone from FashionZeit was behind the disturbance she'd encountered outside of Senfashional, and connected to the incidents at Trafalgar, Elizabeth decided to finally take action. Enlisting the help of Alexandrina Buckingham, Elizabeth used Trisha Layton to freeze the entire FashionZeit office with Type-7. Soon not only was Heather one of Elizabeth's prime suspects but so were Naisha Johar and Leanne Bradley. Elizabeth also took a liking to Sharon Wilcox, taking her to lunch and, later, home for some post-lunch sexual activities. At the birthday party for Helena Atkinson Elizabeth tried to get more information out of Heather while also avoiding Sharon, not wanting to give her the wrong idea. Karen Barker ended up freezing Elizabeth for a time using Type-7, but Elizabeth blamed Aurora, who was once again pulling pranks, this time by freezing people like Sandra. Elizabeth conspired with Sandra, Chelsea Hunter-Weston, Saffron FitzClarence and even Kieran to get payback on Aurora and her friends, Elizabeth personally messing with the French girl before freezing her. After the party Elizabeth went home with Kieran for the first time, but then froze him while he slept and discovered he had an interest in the Winterborne Armband. The next day, however, Elizabeth focused on Aurora and her friends, using Type-7 and some hypnotic help from her cousin Ashlynne Krueger to leave the trio as statues for a week. Elizabeth would not avoid this fate herself, Catherine punishing her for her recent actions by freezing her as well.

After recovering from being under her mother's power, Elizabeth confronted Petra Turner, demanding to know just what she was up to with FashionZeit. With knowledge of a spy, Hannah returned to her and even a new hire in the form of Agatha Keys, Elizabeth visited the FashionZeit Christmas party to hopefully get some answers. By the end of the night she did narrow down her suspects, but she still didn't have the concrete evidence she desired. At the same time Elizabeth did work to deepen her relationship with Sharon. Soon after the party Elizabeth was hypnotized by Lucia Krueger, another cousin, to act as a mannequin at Now Mao over the Christmas season.

First Strike

Tired of her mother and needing to rely on her to freeze others, Elizabeth made plans to finally get the Brooch from Catherine. Jasper Ajax confirmed the existence of MI13, whom Elizabeth immediately took steps to manipulate. Luring Ashley Martell and Kayleigh Belmont to Manchester, Elizabeth used Alexandrina, Raven and Gray Wolf to kidnap them. At the same time, Elizabeth manipulated Lucinda Ogletree to be the perfect reckless target of Catherine's actions. As a result, Catherine did prove herself to be an embarrassment, but while Elizabeth got permission to keep Ashley, Kayleigh and new acquisition Ava Ravinger, she failed to acquire the brooch. Nonetheless, Elizabeth also discovered her mother's secret collection of frozen women, leaving her ready to prepare further schemes.

Aware that Heather Prescott was a person of interest, Elizabeth controlled Ruth Worthington into not only spying on Petra Turner but Heather as well, having Ruth begin a romantic relationship with Heather.
