Lucia Krueger (born 1985) is a minor character in Manchester Chronicles. Of British and German descent, Lucia is a rebellious Manchester socialite who spurns tradition, being in the employ of Dragon's Den. Skilled in the use Hypnosis, Lucia employs Wolfbann Society techniques.
Biography[]
Lucia was born in Dusseldorf, Germany, the firstborn daughter of a German businessman and British socialite Elouise Krueger. A dual citizen of both Germany and the UK, Lucia frequently traveled between the two countries alongside her younger sister Ashlynne Krueger. What Lucia had in ambition, being the apparent heir to her father, she also lacked in respect for authority, quickly showing an anarchistic streak. Lucia loathed what was expected of her, disliking that she had to shape herself to fit expectations rather than having others adapt to who she was. It was this spirit that caused Lucia to reject studying at a university and instead travel.
Lucia first learned about the Wolfbann Society through Astrid Lorenz, who had taken an interest in Ashlynne. Given the Society's own structure, Astrid deemed Lucia inappropriate for the kind of formal training Ashlynne would receive, but did leave her with a book. While Ashlynne was away in Schattenjäger Lucia took to studying the book of Hypnosis, gradually self-teaching. Despite her progress it was only when Ashlynne returned that Lucia started to receive proper training, becoming her sister's apprentice. Due to Lucia's dislike for structure the teachings would be infrequent, but Ashlynne helped Lucia fill in the blanks. It was around this time that Lucia also began to take mercenary contracts, handled by the mysterious Balaur of Dragon's Den. Lucia herself would join the organization as Lynx, though she tries to get people to call her Edelweiss instead.
One particular contract from Petra Turner would see Lucia and Ashlynne come into conflict, as she'd been hired to target Sharon Wilcox of FashionZeit. Lucia, not wanting to cross her sister, backed off, instead dealing Petra to avoid such a conflict in the future. Another contract with Annabelle Konstantinov saw Lucia hypnotize over a dozen members of the Manchester social elite, turning them into temporary mannequins for Annabelle's display. Lucia's actions were sloppy at points, with her cousin Sandra Moncrieff nearly exposing her operation. Eva Bingham and Lori Jones were nearly able to thwart the whole thing, despite Lucia having help from her hypnotized lover Verity Knight, and it was only due to the unexpected arrival of Donna Bingham that Aric Caliban was able to win the day. Employing Sapthorn to ensure no further mistakes, Lucia hypnotized Donna to be her girlfriend for next couple of weeks, also having Eva and Lori start a holiday love affair of their own.
