The Ring of Anubis is a magical item that originated in Egypt along with the Keys of Life. Legend says the ring and necklaces were created by Queen Nicotris to help control those around her in the Egyptian royal court.
Powers[]
The ring affects anyone wearing a Key of Life. While a Key of Life can be forced upon someone there are certain people the necklaces just flat out don't work on. It has been suggested that in the past there was a way to make more Keys of Life but that method has been lost, thus currently there are only two. Any influence made by the ring lasts even after the Key of Life is removed, though to reestablish control the necklace must be worn by the subject again. Anyone can put the necklace on a desired target or remove it, there being no magical restraint that prevents their removal.
Mind-Reading[]
The ring wearer is able to, with concentration, read the mind of any person wearing a necklace. Thought, feelings, even hidden secrets are all revealed.
Mind Control[]
Not only can the wearer of the ring read minds, but it allows them to manipulate them as well. Through will alone, though vocal orders can help, key-wearers can be commanded to do whatever the ring-wearer wishes. The control goes beyond simple commands as well, allowing for a person's very personality to be altered. The key-wearers can also be made unaware that they're being influenced.
Possession[]
If in a safe location the ring-wearer can move their mind to that of a key-wearer, leaving their own body in a state of suspended animation. The possessed person's mind is suppressed, allowing the ring-wearer to have direct control over the person's body.
Suspension[]
A key-wearer can be placed in a state of suspended animation by the ring-wearer, freezing them in place. Anyone suspended has their natural bodily functions all stopped, effectively freezing them in time.
