Sentinel

A Sentinel is a special device developed by the International Temporal Enforcement Agency, designed to handle various tasks in the field for members of the agency.

Function[]

The Sentinel is lined with Impact Rubber as well as some traditional Kevlar, but the main device is a hard shell computer with prongs on the exterior of the forearm. The computer, based on a CyPocket, boasts full SARA functionality though without a holographic projector. The device can help boost the signal of an NI Ghostchatter and even act as a Stasis Scanner. The prongs of a Sentinel can be used to release an electrical charge, one capable of rendering the target immobile for a few short minutes, though unlike with Type-7 the subject is conscious. A squad equipped with Sentinels is also able to link-up and receive real-time updates to their status, monitored by the gauntlet and thus acting as a Freeze Tracker.

History[]

The idea of wearable tactical computers was a concept Marika Bran had been toying with since the International Temporal Enforcement Agency was formed, but full-functionality took some time. Hyun Su contributed the integration of Freeze Tracker and Stasis Scanner technology, Mia Santos suggested greater team connectivity, and Katie Grant implemented third-party technology. As of May 2009 the device is not yet approved for field use and there are concerns that the stun function may not be safe for use, though it is not the only reason it has not yet been implemented as weight has also been a concern.
